Abstract

Asperger Syndrome (AS) is a developmental disorder charac- terized by poor social skills and restricted interests, but also by extensive knowledge in specific areas and an extensive vocabulary, thereby giving college students with AS specific abilities that are desirable in academe. In fact, young individu- als with AS are often referred to as "little professors" (Luckett & Powell, 2003). The authors review the literature on adults with AS, detail adult AS characteristics, and provide sugges- tions for facilitating the teaching and learning of adult students with AS.
