Abstract

One of the unmarked problems in the metamorphosis from seasoned practitioner to neophyte professor is the daunting process of resurrecting practical knowledge for pedagogical purposes. In my case, as a newly minted professor of educational administration, this meant retrieving nearly a quarter century of deeply ingrained experience as a practicing school administrator, winnowing the worthwhile from the whimsical in that harvest, and transforming the yield of craft knowledge into professional curriculum. Simply put, I had to realize the contents of my career before I could select the contents of my course. The question was how to get the inside outside.
