Abstract

The authors examined the relationship between a miscellany of variables and the espoused teaching paradigms and instructional behaviors of faculty at Doctoral Research Universities - Intensive. Their findings demonstrated that gender and academic discipline exert a formative influence on faculty members' role conceptualizations and, consequentially, on the behaviors that they apply to their teaching practices.
