Abstract

Goals for undergraduate English courses typically include increasing the critical reading, thinking, and research skills of students, providing literary-aesthetic experiences, and encouraging students to express themselves analytically on complex topics. The authors believe that joining technology with an interactive pedagogy offers instructors an enhanced means to teach the basics of competent writing and critical thinking. They describe their experiences in two advanced writing classes and a core literature course using interdisciplinary team teaching to incorporate the technology of the Web as a tool for research and communication.
