Abstract

Service-Learning is the manifestation of civic engagement in the academy, and, thus, it has been an important topic of faculty
learning communities. This article describes a faculty learning community (FLC) that used multiple strategies to institutionalize Service-Learning as valued research, teaching, and learning. The FLC employed teaching models to connect the university and community in meaningful ways to increase civic engagement and develop life-long learners.
