Abstract

This article describes how one academic program was designed to respond to businesses' need for employees who can learn and work effectively in a team environment. Students were assigned to cooperative learning groups that were responsible for a group presentation and paper. In addition, students completed three assignments--a group analysis, an individual analysis, and a learning journal--that used reflection as a means of learning about individual and group development. Reflection was the critical element in learning how to learn from experience and in integrating theory and practice.
