Abstract

Glasser (1990) argued that the way teachers manage students has a direct bearing on the quality of the work students produce. This article explores the benefits of "lead management" versus "boss management" for improving critical thinking and quality of work in the context of the college classroom. Specific implementation examples and suggestions from five disciplines are given.
