A Framework for Integrating Faculty Discipline-Related Research with Classroom Teaching and Learning

Abstract

This article describes a process by which classroom teaching and learning activities led to the development and implementation of a framework for conducting discipline-related research through professor-student collaboration. Also discussed are the results of a subsequent opinion survey of 225 students regarding participation in discipline-related research conducted by faculty in the classroom.
