Abstract

In this concluding article, the authors discuss the positive outcomes and the varied challenges participants faced when applying the knowledge and practices gained in the Community of Practice on Engaged Learning (COPEL) to effect change within their departments or programs. The essay concludes with six ingredients learned within the COPEL context that could be deployed to promote engaged learning across the university: a motivating vision and common vocabulary, co-construction of knowledge, cross-departmental communication, guiding documents, ongoing educator development, and purposeful revision of infrastructure.
